Both Sydney and Melbourne beaten, table unchanged

Shane Smeltz scores 11th goal of season

ROBINA (Gold Coast) - Saturday, 7 November 2009

Leading goalscorer and All Whites striker Shane Smeltz tonight netted his 11th goal of the season to give his Gold Coast United side a 1-0 win over the visiting Sydney FC, whilst in Melbourne the home side went crashing down 0-4 to the Central Coast Mariners who scored three goals in the final 15 minutes without reply against the other favourites.

As a result of tonight's action, both the leading teams were beaten, and the A-League Table remain the same. Tomorrow will see two more games with the Perth Glory visiting Wellington Phoenix, and North Queensland Fury take on the Newcastle Jets to complete the round before the World Cup window next weekend, when the A-League takes a breather.
